Seneca Consulting was founded on the belief that legacy and leadership go hand in hand.

Our name is influenced by, Seneca Village, a resilient 19th-century African American community in Manhattan, New York whose legacy of determination prevails.

Today, we carry that legacy forward, designing governance systems and diversity frameworks that empower institutions to thrive with integrity.

Who We Are
JOANNE SALAZAR
Founder and Principal Consultant, Seneca Consulting
Joanne Salazar is a corporate leader, equity advocate and data enthusiast.

She began working as an accountant in London, United Kingdom. Still, her sharp business acumen and ability to solve complex challenges launched her career in corporate governance strategy, management, and organisational development.

With more than thirty years of experience, she has driven strategic planning and transformative growth for several organisations in healthcare, energy and education. From the UK to Trinidad, Ms. Salazar has held several high-impact senior roles, including the first female Director of Finance at the UK’s National Health Service, Chief Executive Officer at the Northwest Regional Health Authority, and Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Services at Phoenix Park Gas Processors.

Beyond corporate leadership, Ms. Salazar has previously shaped several civic and social institutions as President of the International Women’s Forum Trinidad and Tobago, Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association, and board member of COSTAATT and the Guardian Neediest Cases Fund.

Today, alongside advanced studies in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing, she manages Ferndean’s Place Children’s Home in Point Fortin, all while driving data-centric governance and leadership initiatives through Board Diversity–Caribbean and Seneca Consulting.
